On October 5th, 2011 the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc hosted its first event during it Cross Culture and Cross Council Mini with Lambda Upsilon Lambda. This event was entitled “I’ve Been Raped”. At this event students at Indiana University were able to examine the effects of sexual assault on our communities through the story of a brave guest speaker, skits by IU Sexual Assault performers from RAISE, and were able to build a conversation on the topic at hand. This event was planned in order to promote the aims and purposes of colleges and universities. Currently, Indiana University is raising awareness and fighting against sexual assault and domestic violence on its campus. The Alpha chapter and Alpha Xi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi and Lambda Upsilon Lambda wanted to be the leaders of this cause as well.
